Online registration and abstract review for conferences and
symposia offers considerable savings in administrative costs
especially when delegates are attending from many different
countries. Fund Manager will provide a platform for submission and
review of abstracts for the Alfred Benzon Foundation and in
addition, online application and review of fellowships and
workshops funded and the foundation.
28-07-2011 - European Federation of
Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology consider Fund
Manager.
Ektimo in collaboration with EFORT are developing a module
within Fund Manager to evaluate applications for the EFORT
travelling fellowship scheme. The process involving application and
review will be paperless and web-based and fine tuned to take into
consideration the special requirements of travelling fellowship
applications.
18-05-2011 - European Union of Medical
Specialists hold Europe wide orthopaedic exam using Exam
Manager.
120 candidates at 16 locations in 8 countries participated in
the EBOT interim examination via the Exam Manager system.
Candidates registered and sat the exam online via a secure,
downloadable application. The results of the multiple choice
questions were presented to the candidate after the exam along with
other statistical information.
16-05-2011 - Danish Cancer Research
Foundation award using Fund Manager.
35 cancer research projects share 3.000.000 DKK in 2011. The
reviewed and ranked applications were projected on a screen so the
review committee could quickly assess the most promising
applications
24-04-2011 - Gunnar Nilsson Cancer
Foundation awards for 2011 using Fund Manager.
Application round opened for the 3rd year using Fund Manager.
Applicants sent in their applications via an online form. Text
fields are word-limited to encourage succinct and to-the-point
project descriptions and publication lists. The review committee
awarded 30 applications which shared this year's 4.000.000 SEK
allocation.
12-02-2011 - Swedish Orthopedic
Federation choose Exam Manager for the third year running.
Registrations for the Swedish Orthopaedic Exam open. Candidates
register online and choose from a selection of over 80 different
locations in Sweden.
01-01-2011 - Ektimo releases a new
version of Exam Manager's questions database.
A new version of the questions database is released. New
features include, essay style question support, improved navigation
and question filtering, enhanced question selection for exams and
tree-structure menus.
12-11-2010 - European Board of
Orthopaedics and Traumatology exam writing committee meeting
in Lisbon.
Members of the exam writing committee - from all over Europe -
meet in Lisbon to add to the question pool, discuss, fine-tune and
select questions for the 2011 EBOT exam. The questions are
projected one-at-a-time from the online system so they can be
discussed and improved in a group environment.
01-10-2010 - EBOT European Board of
Orthopaedics and Traumatology opens registration for 2011 Exam in
Paris, France.
Candidates register and are vetted online by a selected
screening committee - all facilitated by the Exam Manager program.
The approved candidates are then put forward for the 2011 EBOT Exam
to be held in Paris, France in September 2011.
01-09-2010 - Orthodontics - the art
and practice of dentofacial enhancement chooses Manuscript
Manager.
Orthodontics publishes articles on all aspects of Orthodontic
practice and uses Manuscript Manager to peer review manuscript
submissions and efficiently track accepted manuscripts through the
production process.
20-07-2010 - American Journal of
Esthetic Dentristry chooses Manuscript Manager.
Like its sister publication, The European Journal of Esthetic
Dentistry, it presents clinical articles, beautifully designed and
exquisitely produced, that will both educate and inspire
readers.
02-06-2010 - Oral & Craniofacial
Tissue Engineering chooses Manuscript Manager.
Based in Denver, Colorado, this journal will publish articles
concerning regeneration of all the tissues of the oral and
craniofacial region and provide a central forum for basic science
researchers as well as practicing physicians to elucidate advances
in regenerative medicine.
10-05-2010 - MICRO - International
Journal of Microdentistry chooses Manuscript Manager.
Quintessence International Publications in collaboration with
Microscope Enhanced Dentistry (AMED), Brazilian Association of
Operatory Microscopy (ABRAMO), European Society of Microscope
Dentistry (ESMD) and Japan Association of Microscopic Dentistry
(JAMD) launch this peer reviewed publication and choose Manuscript
Manager for manuscript peer review and production
tracking.
30-04-2010 - European Union of Medical
Specialists validates applications for 2010 multiple choice
question exam.
The orthopaedics and traumatology section of EUMS validates
international candidates online using Exam Manager, candidates
that have the necessary entrance qualifications are then registered
for the exam.
Candidates sit the written exam in their respective countries
and are then considered for the oral part if successful in the
written part.
26-04-2010 - Gunnar Nilsson Cancer
Foundation completes applications for 2010 using Fund Manager.
105 applications were received via the Fund Manager system and
were evaluated online. 3.4 Million kroner was awarded to 37
applications from the Gunnar Nilsson and Trobecks Foundations.
19-03-2010 - Swedish Orthopaedic
Federation holds entrance exam for 2010.
The SOF entrance examination for 2010 was held at 26 national
locations simultaneously using Exam Manager. This year saw a record
number of candidates.
Both candidates and exam locations can register online through
the program and are validated and approved by the SOF
Administrators and Exam Committee.
28-02-2010 - European Union of Medical
Specialists Writing Committee use Exam Manager Questions
Database.
The Orthopaedic and Traumatology Committee met in Lisbon to
approve the multiple choice questions for the 2010 fellowship
examination. The system allows for the committee members to
collaborate and compile questions online prior to the approval
meeting. The committee then use the program during the meeting to
discuss, grade and 'fine tune' the questions.
05-11-2009 - Multiple choice
question database and exam client added to Exam Manager.
Work has begun to incorporate a MCQ database to the Exam Manager
program. This will allow specialists to collaborate in formulating
and revising questions for MCQ examinations in a secure,
online environment. In addition, an innovative method
of presenting examinations via a simple executable application
enhances exam day security and increases flexibility of the
Exam Manager product.
03-08-2009 - Swedish Orthopaedic
Federation launch Member Manager.
In the beginning of August Member Manager was successfully
launched of for the Swedish Orthopaedic Federation. Over 450
SOF members have already used the system to update their personal
information and take advantage of a range of features specifically
designed to keep members updated with the federation's
latest news and initiatives.
10-05-2009 - European Union
of Medical Specialists announces its intention to use Exam Manager
in 2010.
The European Union of Medical Specialists Orthopaedic and
Traumatology section, announced its intention to use Exam
Manager as a platform for the written part of its two part entrance
examination.
"In the past it has been necessary to fly in entrants to a
central exam location for both the written and practical tests.
Using Exam Manager, entrants can take the written exam in their own
countries and will only be invited to the costly, practical test if
they pass. This will give considerable savings."
explains Richard Wallensten UEMS's outgoing president.
Exam Manager's provides a platform to hold examinations
simultaneously over large geographical areas. It's built in
security and failsafe features ensures papers cannot be lost
in the post or mixed up and review and marking procedures are
optimised.
25-04-2009 - New version of
Manuscript Manager to be released in the autumn.
Ektimo is finalising version 5.0 of Manuscript Manager. A range
of new features and enhancements will be added to the program
including a more comprehensive emailing facility, more configurable
online submission options. There are also improvements in
production tracking and reviewer database overview.
14-03-2009 - Gunnar Nilsson Cancer
Foundation completes first application round with Fund
Manager.
Over 100 applications were submitted between December 2008 and
March 2009 via Fund Manager.
Iréne Osterberg, GNCF's administrator commented, "This
was our first time with the online system, and we were expecting to
receive many enquiries from applicants. However, nearly all
applicants were able to submit their applications by following the
online guidelines and we received very few calls."
Gunnar Nilsson was a well-known formula 1 driver who had just
had made his breakthrough when testicular cancer put an end to his
further career at the age of 29.
The Nilsson family donated its assets to cancer research. The
Gunnar Nilsson Cancer Foundation is based in Helsingborg and
supports clinical and experimental cancer research with approx SEK
4 millions annually with SEK 62 millions awarded since 1979.
13-03-2009 - Swedish Orthopaedic
Association holds entrance examination in 20 locations using Exam
Manager.
On March 13th 2009 around 40 entrants sat the annual
Swedish Orthopaedic Association's examination at 20 locations in
Sweden. The examination ran smoothly, the papers were automatically
distributed to the reviewers for marking and results were sent to
the examinees via email.
"We have been looking for an electronic solution for some time
as our entrance examination has always given us administrative
difficulties. We were concerned that the whole exam could be
spoiled in the event of a server crash so we opted for an exam
document download/upload strategy as this ensures the exam process
is untroubled by server or internet connection problems during the
exam." explains Professor Olle Svensson, SOF's president.
The Swedish Orthopaedic Association has over 1100 members and is
the recognised society for orthopaedic specialists in Sweden.
07-02-2009 - Danish Cancer Research
Foundation subscribes to Fund Manager.
The first Danish customer for Fund Manager, the Danish Cancer
Research Foundation has chosen Fund Manager to administer
applications for research projects in 2009.
"The new electronic system was implemented in less than a week
and Ektimo staff have been excellent in providing support and
training during the initial stages." said Annie Henriksen, the
foundation's administrator.
The foundation has awarded over 40 million kroner in to cancer
research projects in clinical oncology and basic oncology in the
last 10 years. Around 100 applications are evaluated each
year by a ten member review board.
01-01-2009 - Ektimo launches new
products.
After an intensive development phase in 2007 and 2008, Ektimo
has completed the first versions of Fund Manager and Exam Manager.
These products were developed and tested in collaboration
with various foundations and societies in order to quickly
establish the product's key features and to corroborate ease of use
and validate correct operation.
Interest has been high with many product enquiries and requests
for features coming from end users. Customer orders have
already been placed for both products in 2009.
